MLO Presents 2017 Hot Pink Affair: Cufflinks & Pearls

MLO Presents 2017 Hot Pink Affair: Cufflinks & Pearls

Mu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Ivy Centennial Foundation hosted another amazing Hot Pink Affair at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel on Sunday, June 25th. This year’s theme, “Cuff Links & Pearls” was a fun-filled afternoon of celebrating our scholarship recipients and raising funds for scholarships and community programs. We awarded scholarships to six well-deserving high school seniors who plan to attend colleges and universities in the fall and will undoubtedly go on to do amazing things in life. We also followed up with two of our past scholarship recipients who have already made significant impressions and contributions on their respective college campuses.

To keep the afternoon lively, the Hot Pink Affair was over the top with entertainment. There was something for everyone in attendance. DJ Ted kept the crowd moving and the dance floor full with his high energy mix of music. Millan and her band brought their soulful sounds of R & B. 2017 scholarship recipient, Tyrah Hicks, a talented violinist, played a selection of classical music pieces. Mu Lambda Omega members and guests were also treated to a surprise guest performance by “Tina Turner and the Ikettes”, where “Tina” was none other than our Mistress of Ceremonies Dr. Jeshana Avent-Johnson, with Eleanor Wallace and Kasandra Kimberly as the “Ikettes”.
