Mu Lambda Omega Chapter was featured in the Summer 2016 edition of the Ivy Leaf Magazine on page 101 highlighting our collaborative effort for the 2016 AKA/NAMI Community Impact Day. MLO’s Health Initiative Committee and ASCEND Program joined in support of the community-wide NAMI Diversity Conference “Bridging the Cultural Divide: Beyond Evidence-Based Practice In Diverse Communities. Health Initiative Chairman Andria Hancock-Crear and ASCEND Chairman Eleanor Wallace coordinated the participation of MLO members and ASCEND Scholars. In addition to providing logistical support, we also attended thought-provoking conference sessions and engaged in dialogue with conference presenters. ASCEND Scholar Ahmanah Caslin connected with one of the keynote speakers, Dr. Cheryl Grills, PhD about her aspirations to become a psychologist and was invited to discuss internship opportunities.
